2022 Los Cabos International Film Festival
This year, Cabo San Lucas will host the 11th annual Los Cabos International Film Festival. This festival was created with the goal of turning Cabo into a meeting point for American, Canadian, and Mexican film industries; where creative minds can come together, see what everyone else is working on, where the industry is headed, draw inspiration from others, and share current and future projects.
After so many years of drawing in big names like Jared Leto, Liam Neeson, and Ewan McGregor (and that's just in 2015!), this event has become one of the most waited for by locals and those that plan to come just for the festival. For a couple of years they went digital or hybrid, we're more than excited to see the event in person once again!
To see their full schedule, check out their page.
The Opening Gala will take place today at the Cultural Pavillion, with a screening of A24's The Whale starring Brendan Fraser.
Los Cabos Competition includes titles such as Blanquita, El Suplente, Falcon Lake, I Love My Dad, Runner, The Origin of Evil, and Viking.
The Baja Inspires section includes films with close ties to our gorgeous peninsula, screening Ir y Volver and Por Los Viejos Tiempos.
World Highlights has the most current work from masterminds of cinema from all over the world, exhibiting titles such as As Bestas, No Bears, Holy Spider, Los Espiritus de la Isla, and Peter Von Kant.
Their After Dark section explores "extreme narratives, immersive images and alternate worlds that appeal to our fascination towards the unknown." You will find titles such as Bones and All, Cría Siniestra, Nanny, and Sick of Myself.
These are just some of the sections they will cover, they have many more including Sin Fronteras Award, Open Air Screenings, Green, Her Story, Encuadres Mexicanos, Special Presentations, and of course their Closing Gala.
